Rose Parade Float Decorating, December 30,2008

We had a sometimes choppy but good flight on US Air to Los Angeles yesterday.  Boy have times changed, not even a free glass of water was offered on the flight.  Our room at the Double Tree Airport Hotel is quite nice.

Our tour left at 8:15 a.m. to go see the floats being decorated.  This year we went to the location across the street from the Rose Bowl.  The group waited about 1/2 hour in one line and then went to another tent and we got on a shorter line.  We did some shopping along the way.  Last time we saw the floats the day before the parade and they were almost finished.  Today we saw lots of bare spots.  They have a lot of work to do in two days.  The flowers were absolutely gorgeous.  You could actually see people with glue in one hand and a flower in the other.

We had time to go back to the first building and see those floats.  We walked along a walkway at the top of the building.

Flowers were prepped with sticks in them, ready to stick on the floats.  People were sorting and fixing flowers everywhere.  It is just so amazing.  Everyone should try to get out and see the parade!

We had a wonderful day.  It actually got hot when we were in the sun.  For the most part, everyone on the tour is great.  There is always that one person that enjoys complaining.
