At Sea, Day 10, Monday, February 9, 2009

At night we keep the TV on the channel showing the bow of the ship and mute the TV.  This way, when I wake up I can tell if it is morning or not.  I happened to awake at 5:30 this morning and saw a beautiful sunrise.  We must have been heading due East.  It would have taken me too long to reach the bow, so I took a picture of the TV.  The one on the left is the regular lens and the one on the right was taken with the sunset setting.  I tried to get back to sleep.

Another great day at sea on the Carnival Splendor.  Ray is feeling a little better.  In arts and crafts with Martha and Barbara in the El Morocco on deck 5 aft, we made covers for sticky note pads.  They are great to keep in your purse.  Ray went to a golf seminar and I decided to do a load of wash.  I had a quick lunch during the wash cycle.    There are seven washing machines for 3,000 guests.  I arrived late for crocheting, but they were still working on scarves.  There were no seats left in the Cool Lounge so I sat in the Oceanview to crochet.  There were birds following the ship and the ocean was a beautiful blue.

Went to the cabin to lounge and crochet while Ray napped.  It was a lazy day.  These paintings are in our cabin.

The Carnival Splendor Dancers and Singers performed “The Beat” for us tonight.  It was a great production number.  The scenery was just magnificent.
