Buenos Aires, Argentina, Day 18, 2/17/09

Today is the last day of the first of our three cruises.  We received our new sail and sign cards last night.  We changed our dining table to the center of the room so we could see the action of the waiters and Ken.  Dennis and Becky moved with us.  We are now at table 431 with Mitchel and Anna as our waiters.

We met with Ruth and our tour group in the lobby at 8:30 and waited for clearance to get off the ship.  I guess it was around 10 or so when we met up with our guide.  This is a commercial port and we had to take a shuttle from the ship to the terminal. The Amsterdam was docked next to us.  We went with Defrantur tours and saw Plaza de Mayo, Cathedral, Government House, San Telmo, La Boca, Caminito St, Madero Port, Palermo Park, Recoleta, Colon Theter, Obelisk, 9 of July Ave., many monuments, and Mausoleum of Eva Peron.  The vans in South America have the smallest seats.  At our first stop Ray &  I went to the bank on the corner looking for an ATM.  It was the largest bank I have ever seen.  We were sent two floors down to the cambio, but the line was too long.  The ATM was Link only.  Sunrise was at 7:29 am, sunset at 8:46 pm.

Dog walking is a popular job.  There is a lot of graffiti in the town and many homeless immigrants

When we got back from our day tour, we had to get ready for our evening La Ventana Tango and Dinner Show.

I couldn’t get the video to post.  It was a wonderful show and dinner.  We got back to the ship about midnight and put in for a 7 am wake-up for tomorrow.
