Day 80–Sat., Mar. 26, 2011–Dubai & At Sea

We had an early sailing this morning so I went out to the terminal last night to spend our last dirhams.  In hindsight, we could have spent them in Oman.  The terminal also had free WiFi and free computers to use.  Ray had a chance to clear up about 500 emails yesterday.  We left the Persian Gulf and went back out the Straight of Hormuz and into the Gulf of Oman.  There wasn’t too much to see because of the sand blowing.  It looks like a haze.  We couldn’t get good pictures on sail-away.

We did pass the Sultan’s Yacht on the way out.  He only uses once every two months and has a crew of 64.  He doesn’t want them staying on the boat, so he bought them apartments and cars.  It is the second largest yacht in the world at 560 feet.

The rest of the day was a typical sea day with lots of activities to choose from.  The entertainment was magic and comedy by John Ekin.

“A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition.” -William Arthur Ward-
