Day 86–Fri., Apr. 1, 2011–Red Sea

There are several theories as to why it is called the Red Sea.  One explanation is because it borders the Egyptian Desert, which the ancient Egyptians called the Dashret or”red land”; therefore it would have been the sea of the red land.  Other explanations involve the seasonal bloom of red-colored algae.

A sea day filled with activities such as the Olympics, men against the women in closest to the pin and wall tennis on Wii; culinary demo; Ping Pong; crafts; etc.

After dinner the entertainment was observational comedy with Tom Sutton.  After that there was a pajama party in the Crow’s Nest which we did not attend.

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.”                     –Samuel Johnson-
