Day 8, Sat., Jan. 12, 2013 ~ At Sea

The seas are nice and calm today and there were lots of things to do onboard.  Many times one thing ends and the next one starts at the same time, so you have to scramble.  I got a little of everything done, painting, sports, computer class, crafts and a show in the afternoon.  Tonight is a formal ball, so they had a shorter show in the afternoon so they could decorate for the ball.  Luckily they chose to have “Pianotainment” perform again.  We found out they are from Germany.  The camera on their hands and faces is projected on the screen behind them.  We really enjoyed Stephen and Marcel.

They decorated the dining room for formal night also.  They covered all the chairs in black and white and hung silver decorations.  Filet Mignon and Lobster were on the menu.  Our waiters are Oky on the right and his assistant Mantra on the left.

We went to the casino after dinner.  We didn’t go to the ball, but I snuck into the balcony for a picture.  It didn’t start until 10 and I couldn’t spend 3 hours in the casino waiting.  They always do a great job decorating, and then cleaning up all the confetti afterwards.

Being formal night, we received a gift – but not the one they expected.  Hurricane Sandy caused a production delay.  We received a Moleskine Travel Box containing luggage tags and a journal.  There is also a map and stickers to customize our entries.  We got two, and each one is very heavy.
