Day 27, Thur., Jan. 31, 2013 ~ At Sea (Raratonga)

Today we were to anchor off Avarua, Raratonga in the Cook Islands.  The weather did not cooperate and the swells were worse than Easter Island.  The Captain wisely decided not to stop and continue on our way to Auckland, New Zealand.  He is going to try to get a berth the night before. End of the Rainbow Rarotonga is the most populous island in the Cook Islands.

Luckily, we were able to stop here in 2011.  The island was covered with clouds, but I caught the end of a rainbow off the stern of the ship.

There are not as many activities planned on a port day, so Bruce made up a new schedule for our sea day and a new Daily Explorer was printed.  So we ended up with a full day of things to do.

After dinner the show was “Celtic Tenors”, three guys that had great voices.  They sang songs from traditional Irish to grand opera.  Another great show.
