Day 115, Tues., April 30, 2013 — At Sea

The last cruise day has arrived and we had 3 1/2 bags packed before we left for breakfast.  After breakfast I sat in the sun for a bit and did some reading on the Lido.  It was hot, but not humid like it was near the equator.   There was a champagne disembarkation talk and crew farewell this morning.  The Queen’s Lounge was standing room only.  We were then given a free hour with no other activities planned so that we could fill out our guest survey form.  We had lunch and did some more packing.  I had my hair done this afternoon and asked Violetta to spray it well so it would last until I get to the Quilling Convention on Thursday.  I now have “helmet head”, but it should last!  We did some more packing and managed to put our 4 large suitcases in the hall before we left for dinner.  They will be shipped by FedEx.

One of our bags had the wheel come off  during storage and it couldn’t be found.  The front office gave us a shipboard credit towards the cost of it.

I didn’t bring my camera to dinner and the waiters all lined up to sing a happy song for us.  The MC said that even though it was a happy song, they weren’t happy to get rid of us.  Having assigned tables and being a long cruise, you really get to know your waiters and the waiters get to know our likes and dislikes.  I will miss that as this will probably be our last long voyage around the world.  It has been amazing to see all that we have experienced.  For the most part, we have had great weather and calm seas.  Ray has recovered extremely well from his surgery and all is good!  I was able to Skype with Ellie tonight and I got a dose of reality.  She said our lawn was looking really bad but Dario had come and cut it!

Being on a Dutch ship, we had coverage of the coronation of Dutch King Willem-Alexander available on our TV.  The only problem was the commentary was in Dutch.  So much orange!  There was no show tonight, just a movie, “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”.  We didn’t go and spent the rest of the time packing all of the “little” stuff that was left around the room.  We are checking a medium and small suitcase and will carry on 2 bags on our Spirit flight tomorrow night.  We will try to clean up some of our emails with our leftover Internet time.
